Leaving and Arriving - Always on Track
Sometimes you switch tracks. The train doesn't stop.
I didn't touch the app this week. I fixed the extension instead.
The calendar flow and onboarding can wait one more week. The Uplyft Chrome extension was calling my name and honestly, it deserved some attention. It's live, it works, and every time you open a tab, you get a dose of Daily Uplyft message right in your browser without you having to do anything.

That's the whole vibe of Uplyft in one small package. Encouragement that shows up before you even ask for it.
One small hiccup. I looked at the Chrome Web Store listing and my full home address was just... there. Publicly. For everyone. Hi internet, come find me in Corvallis.
Turns out if you're not selling anything inside the extension you don't need to be listed as a trader. Switched the account type, address gone, crisis averted. Took longer to figure out than I'd like to admit but we got there.
Fixed it. Felt good to get a small win with a working Chrome extension. Download it, use it, and let me know what you think.
Someone finally tried the app. Her feedback was gold.
A real person on Product Hunt checked out Uplyft this week. Not a friend. Not family. A stranger with zero context and zero reason to be nice.
She liked the core idea. Parents sending the right message to their kids at the right moment, automatically. She got that immediately and said it felt meaningful.
Then she got a little lost navigating everything else.
That's not a criticism. That's exactly what I need. Because now I know exactly where the first-time experience breaks down and exactly what to fix. You can't buy that kind of feedback.
The idea is strong. The user just needs to learn the rest of the app over time. That's the work.
July 11 is still the target. Still the birthday launch.
The Chrome extension is live. The feedback is in. The roadmap is clear. The only thing left is to execute. Last week was tough, but this week seemed more exciting. Now, I get to rework the home screen on Uplyft a bit.
As I reflect on my work and Uplyft, I keep coming back to why I started this. Two kids who play sports. A parent who wanted to show up for them even on the days when life was stressful and overwhelming. A simple idea that became something bigger than I expected.
That's still the destination….Still the reason.
If you're curious, the prototype is live at app.uplyftlife.com. Fair warning, it's not the real thing yet. You can click around, get a feel for the direction, and see where it's headed. It's not downloadable, some features are placeholders, and yes, parts of it are a little broken. That's what prototypes are for.
The real app, the one worth downloading and using every day, that's what July 11 is for.
Still building and excited to keep this train speeding on the tracks. Come along for the ride.
Brad
*Product Hunt launch date is incorrect because I can only schedule 1 month in advance.*
